Israel Ashalim 121MW Tower CSP Plant
The oil displacement project is located in the northern part of the Negev Desert in Israel. The single tower installed 121MW, the total investment of the project is about 750 million US dollars, using water medium technology, no energy storage system, covering an area of 3.15 square kilometers, reflecting area of 1.05 million square meters, installing more than 50,000 heliostats, tower height (including heat sink) 250 meters, the total capacity can be used for 1% of the peak demand for electricity in Israel.

Shanghai Electric BrightSource Solar Energy Co.,Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “CJV”) is a joint venture established by Shanghai Electric and BrightSource. It is committed to development and application of concentrated solar power (“CSP”) technology. CJV extends its business based on the equipment manufacturing, financial leasing, engineering construction capability of Shanghai Electric and the reliable core CSP technology and successful project experience of BrightSource. CJV devotes itself to become a technical engineering and service company to achieve its own value by doing various projects.

1. The Ashalim project is a single-tower solar thermal power station project with an installed capacity of 121 MW. It uses hydro-mass technology to generate high-temperature steam for direct power generation;

2. Make full use of the original site for heliostat layout, without leveling, and save cost.

3. In an irregular venue, with a reasonable layout, the heliostats are compactly arranged and avoid the gullies.

4. For the first time, solar field wireless control technology is used in solar thermal power stations.

5. New heliostats are much cheaper, faster to install, and have fewer components to increase performance and reduce costs.

6. Each heliostat is independently controlled with an integrated dual-axis tracking system for 360-degree positioning. Other components include control components, azimuth drive systems, and elevation drive systems that will reduce solar power wiring and cabling and improve long-term reliability.

7. The industry's first solar power plant to achieve wireless communication and control.

8. The latest proprietary optimization algorithms maximize project performance and power production productivity, increase heliostat density, and increase energy output.
